Sept. 2. 1942

Dearest Mom- Last week was a big week for me as I rec'd your letters of July 2, 9, 14, 16 and 29, and Aug. 2. Less than a month to get here! I was glad to know everything is alright out there and everyone fine. I've got three food parcels in store, recently arrived. Personal parcel sent in May arrived, everything swell. you sure know what to send. Fourteen books sent from Bo[?] in March arrived and I'm well into them. I finally got my kih-bag. Here's routine for day- up at 7.30, get hot water from kitchen, wash, shave every second day (quite a dude, eh), parade or appel 8.30, break fast (bread and hot drinks), then either walking, reading, cleaning up or a game of baseball or basketball. Soups and rations given out at 11.00, lunch about 1 o'clock, supper about 5, evening parade 7.30, lock-up 8.30, lights out 11.00. One of the boys rec'd ball equipment and we have a basketball around. I've got a swell tan but no place to show it off. I haven't rec'd Can. R. C. parcel for six months. Air mail service is sure good. How does the house look now? Surprised Brenda at Kresges- thought she was settled. Thanks for parcels and letters. Love to Brenda, Jim and Bob. Solong, tons of love,

Syd.
