Letter

Sept. 17, 1944. Birthday greetings, Mom. About a week ago I rec'd a big batch of letters, among them Mon. 30 eleven April letters and 10 May letters from you, 6 sports letters from Jim, 8 letters Brenda, one from Bob, Two from Can. [Pensioners] and snaps you sent and snaps Brenda sent May 8. I read until my eyes were sore, stopped for a couple of hours and then continued to the end. Once before at Sagen I got a bunch like that. So Jack Benny got a big hand out there. I hope they get the Area built before I get back, but if I know Victoria, it will be a couple of years yet. I was pleased with the snaps, the first for some time. Linda is growing into a lovely baby, isn't she, and Brenda, Bob and yourself are all looking well. Thanks for sending pyjamas and underwear, don't know if I'll need them or not. I expect my May personal any time now. All the gang are well and in the best of spirits. Well, solong, Mom, love to all, Syd.
