May 8, 1944, Hello Mom - a couple of days ago rec'd swell personal sent Feb. 9. It's sure lovely - peanut butter, maple sugar and all, not to forget the pepper which is something we don't get here otherwise. The slippers are great and a good fit. All the other guys and myself are agreed that you pack the best personal parcel of all. Thanks a million, Vitamin tablets and soap from Hudson Bay arrived a week ago. I've been taking them steadily since beginning of year. I told you before I need ski-boots - they're fine, I've got them on now. I was told yesterday that a games parcel has arrived for me but haven't got it yet. Got 300 pages sent by you, 1000 from K. of P. Vancouver and some from B.C. House. Latest mail Jun. 10 from Jim, Feb. 1 from Brenda. I'm still using [?] you sent me long ago. I hope you're both in good health - I certainly am. Looking forward to Linda's pictures Lots of love, Syd.
