My dear Fern:

I wrote to you a couple of days ago but had to cut it short if I remember rightly. I wrote to the Cox & Co. yesterday telling them to forward five pounds more to N.F.Co. making in all fifteen pounds I have told them to transfer. I want you to go ahead as I told you in my last letter and buy something for yourself, Grannie and Dad and May for Christmas. Do as I said and split it evenly. If by any chance the money does not get there borrow the sum I have mentioned form "his nibs" and it will come along in time. I asked you to give May something from yourself. You might also give her some thing else from me such as flowers or candy or some such safe, fool thing. I would like a dozen or so roses from that place near Scores on King St with some stuff that I think they call baby's breath or some such fool name which is thrown in free of charge. It is very small & white I think. Anyway I will trust to you ma soeur - I have contracted this in the past two weeks.
I want you to buy some flowers for the cemetery. Get the best you can for both.

If you need any more money let me know. I have the British Pay office behind me.

I had another flip this morning. It was very misty but again I got back all right. There are three or four chaps here ahead of me who have not been on any work yet so it will be quite a while yet before I do anything much.

Wrote to Emmer yesterday. I have not yet heard from Maxie. I don't know what has become of him. Do you know anything about him. If you want to you can send mail here direct 19 Sqdrn R.F.C B.E.F. France although anything important had better go through Metcalf.

I sent a small parcel by registered mail to you a few days ago. You should have it as soon as you get this letter. Let me know if you have received it yet.

I hope you & Dad & Grannie & the maid are all getting along fine. Take it easy all of you

Love to all

Gord
