Letter

Same old place, Mar 16/18.

My dear Dad:

Received a long letter from you this morning dates Feb 3. I am glad to hear that you are getting my letter quite regularly.

Don't you worry about my baggage and valuables etc. My trunk, as I have told you before, is at the R.A.C. Pall Mall receipt no 339. The receipt for bonds which I hold I will give to the R.O. (recording officer) to put in his safe for me and none of them are payable to bearer so are quite safe. Grannie informed me a few days ago that Stafford Lusk had sent home $8.00 which he had saved since coming over here. I suppose that is a hint for me to save but will you kindly tell me how I can send money to Canada without losing on it? I tried to find a way while I was on leave but could not.

Do you mean to say that the Dom Prm Loan Co failed so badly that they could not pay back to depositors money? I thought there was some Dominion Law which went a long way toward preventing such a failure.

Did three shows yesterday at and two so far today so you can see I am not growing so lazy. Three or four hours a day at 16-17000 thousand is enough for me. Saw the sun rising when I was five thousand ft up this morning so you see I don't lie in bed very long these mornings.

I hope the warm weather comes soon for you sake and the coal bins. We have had a wonderful winter here & has not been much worse than Florida last winter, that is as long as one is content to stay in on the ground. I carry a mirror in my bus so I can see anything coming up behind. Looked in it this morning when three or so miles up and saw the tad of my nose & my cheek absolutely white. Immediately began to rub and rubbed so hard that I rubbed the skin of my nose & I am a pretty boy now. It does not hurt however & soon heals up.

Love to all

Gord
