Dear Mom & Pop:

Well I arrived here safe and sound and I like Montreal and this air force house is a really swell place. I stayed in town last night with Al and we really had a swell time, we went out to a circus and rode on every screwy ride in the place, never had so much fun since the old 24 of May's at home.

All the fellows are gathered here from the old 18th and it sure is swell seeing them again there a great bunch of guys.

The engagement of [?] and Mary's folks were swell about it I don't think they minded at all. I had dinner in Calgary with her father twice, the only person who wasn't happy about it was her boss- the "old wolf."

I managed to get a buth all the way across on the train so I arrived here in good shape even though the train was over crowded, when we arrived here they gave us till Monday morning off . All we have to do here is answer a call call twice a day- there is no work involved and we will stay here until we are posted and it may be ole England to another fling, the bahamas or who knows where.

The boys were all very impressed when I walked into the sergeants mess they all were so positive that I'd get a commission so I collected on a few of my bets, but I wished I'd have been paying out instead.

I met another fellow from 404 here yesterday and he's a sergeant airgunner he's posted to boundary bay (lucky boy) he wants to go back to england in the worst way, most of the old fellows do.

I'm beginning to get hungry so I'll go down stairs and get dinner. I'll write again Tuesday when I know more about my being here so give my regards to all and keep your mail coming by air mail I may be moved within a week the rumors have it.

Love
Jack
