First Cdn Army Overseas.

DEAR JEAN:

YOU WILL GATHER FROM THIS THAT I ARRIVED IN THE UK ALL IN ONE PIECE IT WAS A GOOD TRIP? AND A FAST ONE, LEFT YORU PRECINCTS ON THE TUESDAY MORNING. HAD SOME HIGH PAID HELP ABOARD, SO THE KITE WAS FITTED UP DELUXE. WEATHER HAS PERFECT TOO, GOT A BIG KICK OUT OF THE TRIP ACROSS NORTHERN QUEBEC AND LABRADOR. VISIBILITY WAS PERFECT AND THE FOLIAGE IN FULL COLOR. WHAT A SPORTSMAN'S PARADISE, NEVER SAW SO MANY LAKES AND RIVERS AFTER THE WAR, EVERYBODY SHOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE HIS OWN ISLAND AND LAKE AND MEANS TO GET THERE BY AIR. MAYBE THERE WILL BE A BLACK FLY OR TWO BUT PERHAPS LA SCIENCE WILL BE ABLE TO COPE WITH THAT TOO.

IT WAS SURELY A TREAT TO POP IN ON YOU AGAIN, AND ESPECIALLY TO SEE THAT THINGS SEEM TO BE GOING WELL WITH YOU, BOTH AT HOME AND AT THE OFFICE. YOU WILL CERTAINLY HAVE TO PLAN ON A TIRP TO THE WEST COAST AFTER THE WAR SO THAT WE CAN EVVEN UP THE SCORE A BIT.

I PROMISED TO SEND YOU A NAME OF A CHAP WHO DOESN'T GET MUCH MAIL FROM HOME, WELL HERE YOU ARE" D-10734 SPR DAVIS M N" SAME ADDRESS AS MINE ABOVE. CIGARETTES ARE ALWAYS ACCEPTABLE, AND ARE ABOUT AS CONVENIENT TO SEE AS ANYTHING. THE REST OF MY BOYS DO OK USUALLY. HAVE BEEN BUSY SINCE GETTING BACK CATCHING UP.

THE BEST TO YOU & THE MRS,

SINCERELY,

GERRY.
