Dear Fern:

Received two parcels from you this week. One with sox from Grannie & sultanas and I am now eating Laura Secords as fast as I can. Much obliged "old top". Also got a letter from Dad this morning dated May 15, so you see that it takes just a month for letters to reach me.

How are you getting on? Don't work too hard but take care of yourself. I have not heard from Max since I left Eng except once that was forwarded to me. However I suppose he is still going on as usual although I do not know whether he is in Eng or France.

Things have slowed up considerably here lately. We patrolled for a week and saw about half a dozen Huns the whole time so now I only do one show a day and that is often washed out. I don't mind that however as I did an awful lot of flying first ten days I was back from leave.

DePinceir and I flew down to see Fairy day before yesterday but he was out. However we knew three other fellows there so stayed and had lunch with them.

Take care of Dad & Grannie and yourself and don't worry about me.

Love

Cap't Irving
