Dear Dad:

Well! I got back here all right again. Wrote Fern from B[?] when I arrived there and then got a train up here next morning and got in about two o'clock. There was a show on in the evening but the Co. didn't consider me fly able and said not to go on it. I went up on my own however and fooled around with some Bristol Fighters & had a little scrap.

Had a show on this morning but it was dud and there has been no flying yet. I think I told Fern I had been down to Sidcup with Mr Metcalf. Had lunch and tea there and then came back and spent the evening with Fairy.

Had an awfully good time on leave but just came back in time as the bank was failing. However there is no need to worry as I have my war loan to fall back on if necessary also Max who seems to be getting on quite O.K.

As usual there is a lack of news over here but everything is going on quite well. I am OK. as usual and have changed my address. You will in future have to send your letters to Captain G. B. Irving as I am a 2 Lt no longer. It came through when I was on leave and I now lead B flight to war.

Take care of yourself and take things pretty easy and don't worry about me.

Love
Gord
