Dearest Laurie

I've received some more mail today so now have all your letters up to July 27th. There has sure been a lot of mail in this last few days so now I'll have to get busy and write a few letters. I wanted to write you a letter on our anniversary but due to unforeseen circumstances I wasn't able to. I suppose you have heard all about it by this time. I was going to send you a cable but didn't get to the post office while I was away on my course and there was no use sending it when I came back here, as it was three days before our anniversary then.

Maybe I'll be home for our anniversary next year Sweetheart and we will be able to go on another honeymoon like we had before the war started. It seems like only yesterday that we were married, I can remember everything so well but it isn't so very long ago. There has been so much happen in our lives since then though Honeybunch that it seems like a long time ago. It is going to be hard to settle down after this is over but boy will I ever be glad to get back to you. Don't worry about me, if you don't get many letters as I'm always thinking of you even though I can't write. There is no tables or anything to write on in this camp no it is darned awkward.

There is a picture show on tonight in the camp but I'm staying in to write letters instead of going. I want to go to bed early anyway as there hasn't been much time for sleep lately. I slept like a log last night but still feel tired so another good nights sleep should fix me up. I'll be on guard tomorrow night so that means very little sleep. It's a great life if you don't weaken Sweetheart I can think of lots of places where I'd like to be and they all spell you and home. I don't want to get out of this thing until it is all over but it would sure be nice to get home for a short spell. It will sure be a good day when I get back to you and forget war for a spell.

I'm getting the rest of my leave next week so I'm going to look up a cousin. I feel as if I should go and look her up and there is no time like the present. I won't have very much money but should have about four pounds which isn't so bad. I can have just as much fun with that and no big head.

I received your airmail letter dated Aug. 8th so it made pretty fair time. I also received the parcel you sent me July 16th so now have all your parcels until then and the tobacco you sent thanks a million for everything Sweetheart.

Lots of Love, Hugs, and Kisses

P.S. I love you
