Dear Mother

I hope you are all quite well I have a letter from Sadie this afternoon the first letter I have had for some time, for three week to be correct, I had a letter form maggie as well she she said that Len & Will P had just had their annual now, & that the little girl had got the whooping cough.

I believe that young Furber is in Hopsital in this Command, I will look out for him if he comes into the camp; I am still waiting for my proof of rank to come through it is weeks ago since I wrote, I shant be able to leave here till I do get it.

We are having lovely weather now from what I see, your crops must be pretty high now, I hope that they turn out well this year.

I have a lot of back letter to come the last I had form you was a may the first.

I hope that Percy Arkinstall is going along all right.

Fancy Oscar Eardley being married, all my cousins seem to be going off, it must be the War, where is he going to live?.

Well I hope that the War wont carry on for ever, I'm getting tired, I'd like to get back to civil life for a change. I got a new pair of boots form the Red Cross last week. They are a very good fir, but you know what my feet are breaking in new Boots my corns are as bad as ever, if not a little worse.

Well please give my love to all the Boys & to Sadie, I have a bit of a cold but otherwise I am all right

I remain your loving Son

Tom.
