Dear Brother

I received your letter of Aug 20th yesterday and was glad to hear how you were all getting on again. It is the first letter from home I have received in France Mother had written a little not in it too. you must have had a fine time on that trip to the coast. Had dad got away for his holidays yet. I hope he does before the bad weather comes and spoils his trip. The last letter I had from Hannah she was still in Alberni I guess she will be home by now. Mother was saying she saw Uncle Lauchie in Vancouver Did you see him too. I didn't know he was returned from England. I guess he is just as funny a little fellow as ever I'd like to have seen him. He sure used to be good to us when we were small. I've had a letter from Aunt Motherwell. They had been forwarded on from Seaford. I'll write them first chance I get. They are all find. Aunt Jim had been on a week end visit to Motherwell & Hamilton and had seen them all. I wish I had been able to go up there on my draft leave. They sure were good to me when I was up there before.

How is everything in Kamloops these days. I guess it will soon be skating time again. You will be learning to skate this year I suppose. Dont forget to were a cushion in your pants or you will break your bones. Remember when I was trying to skate last winter. My bones ache when I think of it.

Well Charles there isnt much to write about here so I'll close with love to all. Hoping to hear from you again soon. I am

Your loving brother
John
