Dear Mother

Just a few lines to let you know how I'm getting along. I got several letters from home in the last week and also a parcel with the glass in it. I was glad to get it O.K. It was just fine I had a letter from Uncle Will and also one from Mildred so I heard how everyone was getting on. Uncle Will didn't get his Exemption extended I guess he will be called up be this time. He might be comming over with Uncle George yet. He said that the spud crop had been a good one. I also heard from Hannah at Wellington she wa staying at Bigg's place. I suppose Tom would put some fancy ideas into her head if she stayed there long. Aunt Jim also had a letter here for me so I did well. She say they are all on the sick list with the "flue". I hope you dont get bothered with it in Kamloops. It must be fierce the way it spreads around.

How is Everything at home these days. The weather will be getting pretty cold. It is fine here yet. We are still among the cabbages and vegetables and staying in houses. I found this ink in the house so I'm using it up. I got the Xmas card here and sent a few to Canada It will be nearly Christmas when it arrives I suppose. I will close now wishing you all a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.

Your loving Son

John

PS. I got the pictures of you & Charlie and also those with dad on. They are all fine. The sure are good of all of you. I got a letter from shindy with a lot of pictures in a few days ago. He took them while on his holiday at the coast.
