Dear Pa

Rec'd your welcome letter last week and this is the first chance I have had of writing since.

Geordie is away at the school taking another course and will probably be away a month.

It's just a year to-day since we went through Winnipeg and I hope we are not away for another year. This war is liable to end any time. We are giving Fritz hell on all sides. The weather is getting cooler now and they issued us each a blanket not long ago altho we don't take them in the line. We are sleeping in huts at present. I Expect to see that parcel one of these days that Uncle R. kindly sent and will try & keep some for Geordie.

Our platoon Sgt., Pourgess by name, used to board at 24 Knappen St. You probably knew the people.

Well so-long for just now and let us hear from you again soon.

Your Loving Son
Al.
