Letter

France July 14/18

Dear sister

I received your letter to day and was awfully glad to hear from you it takes a letter an awful long time for a letter to come as you will see by the date I hope it does not take my letter as long to reach you.

Well we are leaving this place to morrow where we are going we cant say but it is not to the front be very careful of my address we are not allowed to address at the end #2020829 Pte S, Greenway 7th Battallion B.E.F. France. It is some work to sort it out you know and if they are not properly addressed they are sure to go astray.

The parcel I have not received yet I am anxiously awaiting it. I expect one from Uncle John in a day or two.

I was wondering how those exemptions came out according to papers the Americans are pretty strong here now [remainder of letter missing]
