Dear Lola;

Just a few lines in answer to your welcome letter which was a very long time coming never mind I have got it I am very please to hear you are all in good health the same has it leave me at present you say Fred has joined the R.F.C. I am very please to hear it remember me to your mother and father and all well Lola. I am on my way back to the trenches I have not much to write about all you can think about is War. I will soon be going on leave I was over to England last Xmass and New Year's this will be my third Xmass in France and I wish I was home just for one day and you are going back to school awhat I wish I were tho I have been to school all this summer but only to learn how to kill a man some school, say Lola how about sending some of your snapshot that is not an order but a request I think I will have to ring off for now because I cannot think of anymore so Good-Bye for now.
