My Dear Mother,

Well Mother how is the weather there in Manitoba? We had a snow here two or three ago but it is nearly all gone by now and it makes things rather sloppy although nearly everybody gets rubber boots in the trenches and so keeps the feet dry. We are in the reserve now and are billeted in barns back of the firing line. We are to move this evening farther back from the firing line. I suppose Father will be home by the time you receive this letter. I hope he has improved in health and I am sure the trip will do him good and you will have Frank back and with you very soon. Is there as much snow as ever and how is the month of March behaving. There isn't very much news to tell. I can't received a letter for some time but I guess they are delayed somewhere and I will be getting quite a few some of these days. I have kept free of a cold so far and am in good health ready to eat my meals at anytime.

Well Mother this is all the news this time. Did you get the three pounds I sent from Bramshott.

With love to all.
From your loving son
Jim
