Dear Mother

This is Sunday so I thought I would write a few lines home. I have been getting lots of letters lately both from you at home and from Scotland so I'm pretty lucky. I got a couple of letters from Hannah and one from Dad a few days ago. I was glad to hear that sonny and you had left for the Coast. It will be fine down among the trees and things again. I hope you enjoy the Holiday. It will be a relief after the scorching weather at Kamloops. Be sure and tell me all about it. When Dad and Hannah land down it will be like home again. I suppose its no use asking if you went to see our "ranch" at the [?]. How did it look. I hope your wheezle didn't come back and spoil your holiday.

Things are just about as usual around here. Nothing doing The last couple of week haven't been so hard in the drill line so I'm feeling pretty good. I saw Dan & Domnick Grounel last night they are on Draft for France. They might leave to night but of Course no one knows for sure. Young Gooetl from Kamloops is Also on Draft. Charlie will know him. He used to drive around with a shetland pony. I also saw Fred Shaw. You know the one that used to go to Pollocks all the time and go hunting with the boys.

I got a letter fromUncle will last were with all the news in it. I sure was glad to hear from him. Tell Hannah I got a letter from Tina with a nice photo of her in it. She isn't in overalls this time. She looks some chicken dressed up. You ought to see it.

Just now the mail came and there was a parcel for me. I thought it was one that you had sent but I was stung. I wrote cousin Jean at Motherwell. That is Uncle Charlies Daughter about a week ago and sent her one of my pictures like I sent to you. So with her reply she sent two boxes of Candy. 1lb chocs & other 1lb chocolate toffee. She is some class Ch. It was awful good of her don't you think. She was good to me when I visited them at Motherwell too. She showed me around like a good fellow.

Well mother I haven't much more news so I will have to up for the present . I will close now hoping to hear from you soon and with love to all.

Love

your loving son

John
