Dear Mother

Just a line to let you know I am still well. this trip is fine only its getting tiresome. we have had a route march everyday except today. it is about 5 oclock now so I guess we are out of luck just now we are in northern Ontario passing the great lakes. it is the most Barren country Ive seen yet. It is all rocky Hill with Dead looking trees on them like the top of Mt Benson all the time. It was snowing all day till about 3 this afternoon. The lakes look just like the bay at home. there are even sea gulls on them around the towns. There isn't anything much to write about and its a hard job any way with the train [?] about so I will close with love to all

your loving son John

I'm sending a card the ladies passed around at Med Hat

over

we get stuff at nearly all the stations. Charles can keep in that collection of ours. I signed over $20 [?] before I left Vancouver. I don't know just when it will take affect the 1st of the month I think. Ta Ta will write again soon
