Dear Mother:-

It is with pleasure I sit down this afternoon to write you a few lines to let you know I am well hoping that you are all the same. We had nice weather here all the week but we had a dandy hail storm this morning it only lasted about twenty minutes though it was the biggest hail I ever saw fall but it has turned out nice and sunny now.

I guess you have started cropping by this time this is Mothers day over here and every man is supposed to write her so every place is filled up and I can't get a table to write on so I am sitting on my blankets and a mess tin and writing on my knee. We are having a pretty good time here now not near as busy as we were first week we have sports every Saturday afternoon and a concert pretty nearly every evening. I can tell you every thing is pretty dear over here apples are 48cts per lb. and you'll only get three little cakes for 12cts oranges three for a quarter and you would get them for two cts each down home. Well we are all transferred since we came over here and I am in the 85 Nova Scotia Highlanders now.

Well I guess I will close for this time hoping to hear from you soon as I pretty nearly tired writing and getting no answers.

Write soon Good Bye

Allan
