Dear mother

I hope you are all quite well & that you are getting my letters regular now. We are having very wet weather now, it makes it very miserable. I have been very busy lately knitting a sweater coat, I just got the arms to do now & then I shall be through.

I hear that that young fellow from Drayton Post Office is going to Switzerland, his Lungs are gone wrong I had a letter from maggie this week, she seems to be getting along all right out there. Please don't send any more apples they get knocked about & go rotten I saw Stevens yesterday, he said that he had had a letter from you, he seemed very pleased, he hasnt got the Parcel yet it takes a long while for them so come almost a month.

We are having a Concert tomorrow night the Russians are giving it, they are very good dancers, & are realy splendid at doing fancy work with wood & metal. Dick Lea soon got food again he's unlucky.

I got the 5/- you sent all right thank you very much for sending it, don't trouble to send any more, I've got enough to last me for some time. I'm afraid I havent got much to write about. I was pleased to get that Letter from Hugh I hope he will write again soon if he can spare the time. give my best love to Emmy & Joan & to the Boys.

I remain your loving Son

Tommy.
