Dear Mother

Thank you very much for the parcel, which I got last night. I had a nice letter from Maggie two days ago, things must be very slow in Calgary just now I should think from what she says, although they seem to be doing pretty well themselves. Except from artillery fire things are very quite along this Front, I haven't had any trouble with my feet yet, they are cold most of the time though, the mud is something awful. I didn't think it was possible to have so much mud in one country.

Don't send me any more bread and cheese, I've had cheese so often since I've been here that I am ashamed to look it in the face, I would like a little cake though one in a while, I've got over my dislike for that a long while ago, we get quite a lot of food, but as it is the same every day it is just about as bad as going real hungry.

I am sorry to hear that Uncle Will is sick again

Give my love to all at home

I remain
Your loving son
Tommy
