Dear mother

Thank you for your Parcel & letters, I got a Parcel from Emmie as well, isnt it good of her sending me stuff, I never appreciated letters & parcels so much in my life as I do now, it is fine to get a letter from Home, it does one more good than you can imanage at Home. Tonight is Sunday night & we are going to have Service at 7 Oklock by the Brigade chaplain, in the [?] that we are Billeted in.

The weather has taken up a little, it is rather cold now though.

We haven't been getting much news from England lately, the Paper's have not been coming over lately. I had a great feed on the Park pie my Tummy is quite full for once anyway.

I am still in the best of Health We saw the King when he was out here, I think I told you in my last letter we were received by him; it was too bad that he got hurt.

You see I am using the paper you sent me, it is much better than carring a writing tablet about with me, our pack's are heavy enough without carry any extra weight. I got a letter from maggie the other day she hast quite got my address right, she forgot to put the No of the Regement, & she still uses my old No 3099, write & let her know will you please, because they wont let me put in in my letters. Give my love to all at Home & thank Emmie for her nice Parcel & letter.

I remain

your loving Son

Tommy.
