May 15/18.

Dear mother

Thank you for your letters the mail has been coming in pretty fast last week, I got four from you & one from maggie.

We have been having very nice weather here lately, but it has been pretty dusty in the Lager.

I should be going to Holland pretty soon now, they are past my date of Capture, but my proof of rank has not come through yet, & it is not possibly to go now until it does arrive, I wrote for it the end of febuary, but they seem to be awful slow about sending them in now. I have had several letter's from S,M. Heaton since he got accross, he say's they are having a pretty good time.

I should love to be in England. this weather, it is certainly fine I am glad to hear that Sadie is doing so well with her chickens, she must be making a fortune.

The letter I had from maggie was a pretty old one some time in Jan.

We have'nt any news here so you must excuse my letter being rather uninteresting.

There is an English concert at the end of this week. It breaks up the time a little.

Well I hope that it wont be long now until I get my proof of rank through & get out of this country.

give my love to all at Home & to Emmy & her family, & y regards to the Arkinstalls, I hope that Percy is all right

your loving Son

Tom.
