Dear Mom:

Here I am again this time I have a little news for you. I have started a survey course which lasts for ten weeks. It should end around the end of January. It is all new to me and Boy Oh Boy has the first week been a mess. I hope that I get things straightened out soon.

The work is very interesting it deals mainly with the lining up [of] the field guns in action. There is a lot more to it than just pointing the gun in the right direction. You have to know the right elevation to get at a target on the other side of a hill and how to get it. Those are only a couple of the things that we have to know there are plenty of others.

I suppose you are wondering what happened to the auto-mechanics course I mentioned well I don't know myself, all I know is that I am now taking survey. I will of course get trades pay if I can pass it.

Well it looks as though it is either a feast or a famine with cigarettes. Last week I received 900, the nos. of the packages were E71052-53-54, Then this week another 300 came along 570-89293 so you can see I have enough to last me until the end of the year.

I don't' know if Bill "B" has my address or not if he has he has not written as yet so will you send me his address. I can get to London almost any weekend.

This weekend I am going down to Hastings again with Gordy Cox. I had a good time the last time I was down.

Your box #20 arrived on Nov. 20 the same day as one from Aunt Lida. The contents were welcome. Just as you have heard toilet paper is rather short over here but there is plenty in what you sent to do me for a while.

Looks a though this is the end of the paper so I will close for now.

Love to all
Ted

Got a card from Dave Johnson he is here now.
