Dear Mother & Father

Just a few lines hoping you are in the best of health as it leaves me at present. I received your letter the same day as we left Shornecliffe so I never had time to go over & see Dick. We are now in the trenches & not doing so bad having fine weather & lots of food so we mustn't grumble. I guess old Elsie think herself somebody now earning that amount of money. Tell Alf I got his letter safe & tell him he had better be carefull on that wheel or else he will be breaking his neck & don't want that to happen & tell him that is an expert wheel & not a [?]. I don't think much of Elvin going an getting married like that he might have had a little common sence & he ought to be ashamed of himself because we git no reperation allowance & he will have to leave her some money so he will do hiself no good & he we be sorry for it & hope old Wilfe is alright again & go to school I guess he was sick. Well Dear Mother & Father this is all I can say this time as there is no more paper we are only allowed 1 envelope & paper a week so I will close this letter

From your loving Sons
Wally & Charlie
