Jan. 1 Weather fair, busy digging dugouts.
" 2 Registered on Fosse 6. Sgts. Hare and Gordon left for England for
Commissions. Major Beeman, notified that he had been awarded the
D.S.O.
" 3 Bad weather, Men worked on fixing up Chateau for office. Fired 11
rounds on trench junction in M 26.
" 4 Raining. Corporal Myers left for England for commission.
" 5 Occupied dugouts. Fired a few rounds on T.M. and 340 rounds on trench
in M 26.
" 6 B. and C guns moved to different Arc of fire. 56 rounds fired on Fosse 6.
" 7 Enemy shelled battery in rear of our position 12 rds. Fired on S.O.S.
" 8 8 rounds fired on S.O. S.
" 9 Fired 225 rounds on trenches near Angres.
" 10 16 rounds fired on S.O.S. 100 rounds on trenches near Angres.
" 11 Three officers visit O.P. daily to become familiar with all targets. Fired
100 rounds on Southern Crater.
" 12 60 rounds fired on Fosse 6.
" 13 Fired 100 rounds on Fosse 6 and trenches in vicinity with observation
Laretter Spur.

" 22 Lieut. Lean and party of 20 men commenced construction of 9.2 gun pits
near Maiqueffles.

" 24 Party pf 20 men sent to Gouay Suvine to work at ammunition dump
" 25 Hostile aircraft active 250 rounds fired on trenches in M 26.
" 26 Fired 26 rounds on S.O.S.
" 27 Fired 60 rounds on Fosse 6.

" 29 160 rounds on hostile battery 4 O.K.'s.
" 30 Major Beeman, returned from England.
