Dear Folks,

Well here I am back in camp after fourteen lovely days of leave. Yes I enjoyed myself that is as well as could be expected. I just got back Friday night into camp that is my new camp it is quite a ways from where I was before but it sure is a pretty place we are surrounded by what I would call a picnic grounds. We are only here for a very short time though.

When I wrote my last letter I believe I told you I was going out to a farm well I did that afternoon and I felt quite at home again it was about 30 miles north of Birmingham the farms are much different here though then they are back home a 150 to 200 acre farm here is a big one and they can only grow what the government tells them to grow. It wasn't a well to do farm but they got along. I sure admired mother nature while I was out there the trees and flowers and the little glens were beautiful I was out there for five days and I'll admit it I didn't even turn a hand and believe it or not they begged me to come back. But I won't be getting any leave for a few months now so I guess I will have to wait. Guess who I met in Birmingham none other than Morrison from Assiniboia he was looking good and we had quite a chat before he had to catch his train.

When I came back off leave I hadn't received any more than four letters for the last four weeks but I really hit the jackpot the day I got back off leave I got sixteen letters believe it or not and two packages of cigarettes 300 from you and 300 from Lorne. And thanks a million for them for it gets pretty hard to smoke these English cigs.

I am glad to here that the wheat is going in fairly good and that you at least got a good rain. I don't know which letter reached here first yours or Winnie's for I was on leave and I got them both the day I came back.

I started to train about a month after I got here and that would be about the 1st of March.

I got a parcel from you the day I went on leave and thanks a lot for it they sure help a lot, like last night we had a big feed in the barracks cheese corn beans cherries peaches, tomato juice, chocolates canned goods really go good for you can eat them cold. I asked you for some films but I forgot to put the size in the letter they are 120 our bomb aimer has a camera. I will write Lorne and Lillian to night and Earl and Winnie so I guess I will close for now for guess I am out of paper so Say hello to all.

With Oceans of Love
Your son Bill
