Dear Folks.

Well I think I have some good news for you. I think I will be home for xmas. I can't make myself believe it but that's what it is. They can't handle us here or send us overseas for awhile so they are sending us home until the 14th of Jan. not bad eh.

Boy is it cold down here it was about 15 below last night and down here where it is so damp that's cold and me without underwear. All my clothes that were in the kit bag went down to Halifax.

Our kit bags are suppose to be on there way back here but when it will get here I don't know.

Boy have we had an easy life since we hit here we get up at about a quarter to nine and have a parade at 9:30 then we are free for the rest of the. The meals are swell the other night for supper we had 3 different kinds of meat and four different kinds of vegetables and a pickle dills at that, this was all on the same plate. Then we had our choice of milk coco or tea for beverages. I can understand now why sergeants and NCOs get the big tummy.

I was down town the other night and who should I meet on the street but Herb Heartly boy it sure was good to see him and he sure was glad to see me we couldn't get over it for quite awhile. He is hoping to be moved out west in the spring.

Being that I am going to be home for xmas I ate the chocolates that you gave me. We don't get up in time for breakfast around here so I have to have something to eat before dinner.

Well I guess I have said enough for now so I guess I will close for now
