Dear Jack

Have written you several times and used gum envelopes, but not received an answer, wondering what was the trouble, also sent two field post cards, no answer. Write immediately a card or something on receipt of this.

Have just received my Xmas parcels, a fruit cake, some McDonald's tobacco and eating tobacco & box of cigars. They are more welcome now than at Xmas when they would have been lost in the multitude of good things.

How are you off for reading? Could you do with some Saturday Evening Posts?

Have not heard from home lately or from Sydney except for a card from the latter saying you had a few hours together.

Good Luck

Dad
