Dear Father

Yours of the 8th received today, and as I felt that a little Xmas cheer was required, welcomed it.

So Ethel is to see old Montreal again. I am sure she will enjoy it.

Did the boys tell you about the 3 of us looking up Tonbridge and tracking out that cousin married to the coroner, then walking to Frant, and after search & enquiries finding the Dibley plot. The old verger who knew & succeeded Grandpa Dibley directed us to it.

Later by myself on my leave to London I found Ben Row, now known as Ashton - tho it was Jack who first found his whereabouts - but Ashton was at the time on his holidays. But Jack made other friends near by, who never tired of talking about him when I met them on my visit to Ashton - "Jack is a great Mixer." I hear from both him & Sydney lately and they are well.

Well Father, to you & Ethel and all and with the hope that I will see you on my return.

Your son

John
