My dear Bill:

Here it is the end of May and it seems like fall. The weather we're having is simply awful. I don't know why they don't give this country back to the Indians. But then I should kick.

It's really marvellous to hear that Len is getting the D.F.C. Congratulate him for me dear, and tell him to be sure to look me up when he gets home.

Bill I just wish you could see John. (the baby) He's only two months old but he's starting to make to smile and makes noises. He's really a dear.

I saw your mother today, and I was asking her how the weather was at the Island and she said it's quite nice. Can you imagine that? I thought it would be freezing. But then she says the house they are living in is heated, so I guess that helps.

Beverly was helping me run off a stencil the other afternoon. She was quite a help too. I think she knows as much about the Gallery as I do now. You'd really be suprised to see her she's grown like a weed since you left.

I suppose W.G. will tell you about the Election. It was really dirty. Every man that spoke on the radio was running down the other fellow. It just made me sick to even listen to it. Drew was re elected this year. I don't know what you think about it and I'm not going to voice my opinion but W.G. thinks it's terrible.

Glen Gray and his Casa Loma Orchestra are playing at the Palais Royal tonight. I bet it'll be packed.

Mom said a 26 oz would just be a start, when you come home. She'd said we'll really have to celebrate.

Gee darling I haven't mentioned "Willie" for ages. I've been afraid to. I keep him on the bed and when my cousins came up (by the way they're 6 & 8) they dragged him all over the floor before mom could stop them (and I was at work) and the poor thing is black. So I'm going to take him to the Cleaners, and maybe they can clean him up. But other than that he is fine.

Mom said when you come home she has a full time job for you rocking the baby so you won't have any time to be an Instructor. (That's what she thinks!)

I'm afraid that's all for this time.

Give my regards and also to the Clarks.

Loads of love, Hilda.

P.S. Look in the mirror and give the person you see a big kiss for me. Will you huh?
