Dear Mother:

The socks for Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Neelands arrived this morning. I have written a letter of thanks.

Part of my kit has arrived but not the great coat or anything useful -probably never see the rest - about $600 worth. C'est la Guerre!
No letters from you lately but we are hoping - don't slack.

Haven't won any medals yet - I think they are holding me in reserve - Ha! Ha!

Letter from Blatchford yesterday - seems a bit browned off - hasn't seen any Nazis lately.

I can't seem to wear these wool socks out - they're certainly great. I'll write when the Christmas gifts arrive - if they do (doubtful).
Doing bags of flying and eating (at present have pipe gripped between my teeth.)

Love

Bill
