July 20/18
Dear Mother.
Received your letter dated July 22nd yesterday which makes the third time that I have had letters from you in about three weeks but no other Canadian mail from any body else. The other day as I was passing the officer's ward and say Jack McEwan and had a long chat with him. He hurt his ankle on sports day and said he is not so young as he thought he was, he is looking well but is a lot older looking than he was when I last saw him. I had a registered from Aunt Mabel yesterday enclosing what money was left that I had given her and today her parcel came that she said she had sent. She received my last letter before she left. I guess that will mean now that Tots will not be bothered again for some time now. I am still in the rest station but do not improve much especially the last two weeks but feel a lot better than when I came down here first. They have been giving me nearly the same kind of treatment as there was in that what you sent me that you got from Millar. I still get pains in my stomach after I eat and feel sick in the stomach most of the time. I would not say for sure but think that I will be up before another board soon now and will let you know what happens when it is over. We have a few heavy rains lately but looks as if it has cleared up again for a while. We sure have had a peach of a summer so far and hope it continues. What do you think of the news lately, looks pretty good! doesn't it. Aunt Mabel will be back home by now and when you write to her tell her not to bother to send me a list of what she did with the money that I had left with her. Hope this finds everybody well and that things will turn out for the best with me.
Love to all
Your loving son
Gordon
