France

Dear Mother:-

I did not receive a letter from you this last week, but the mail often gets held up at the battalion so I expect to receive one this week.

I had one from Syd this saying everything was O.K. and that he had the little book you sent me. He also mentions that he has a boil on the neck and that I am in hospital with lumbago which is news to me as I haven't lost a day since I have been down here.

The weather is keeping about the same, cold and windy with little rain.

Well Mother things go so much the same day after day so there is nothing to talk about. The time seems to go so quick, however. We have been in France ten weeks.

Love to all

Jack
