Dear Emma,

Skirting the shores of Lake Superior all day. Wild, lonely scenery with a fog blowing in from the lake.

I wish I had brought a camera to to catch the effects of the fog, sometimes obliterating parts of the hills, the tops appearing floating in the sky.

We had a bathing parade. Last night had a fine view of a house burning opposite our car at Chapleau at 2 a.m., village fire brigade at work.

Love,

John
