Dear Violet,

Well we are here at last and believe me this is military life. We came down yesterday and were quartered at the procees [sic] building. Last night was the first night on the boards and sleep was very scarce with every body in out Batt. Lights out at 9:30 and every body was singing and yelling till all kinds of hrs. I was awake at 4:00 am and very sore. My bunk is a top one asn [sic] Virtue Alley some name eh. But I bet everyone will be so tired tonight that we will have some peace. Tonight we had bread jam and cheese same as last night but there is always lots of it. Art Moyer ran across me last night in here and I was around with him for the rest of the evening. They have a free movie show here about every night and I think I will go there to-night. Art has just come in now. I guess there isn't much more to say. When you write to me address your letters thus. Pte J.B. Moyer, 95th Batt, Signal Corp, Ex Camp, Toronto.

Jay.
