Dear [?] Reid

You will be surprised to receive a letter from an utter stranger but Mrs Sutton and I thought you might like to hear from someone who saw your brother during his visit to Edinburgh he and a friend from the same batt. came up for tea on Sunday

Your brother is looking very well and in good spirits. he is a fine lad so healthy and strong looking and with all he has gone through. war has not spoiled him. You will wonder who Mrs Sutton and I are. Mrs Sutton resided many years in Halifax N.S. where her late husband was principal of the D. and D. Institution I am a friend who live with her.

with kind regards
yours Sincerely
L. Mackay
