Dear Folks:

Just a line to enclose the card and give you the latest news -- what there is.

The box came last night and was just as welcome as usual -- especially the strawberries. I ate about half of the that night and finished re rest for breakfast the next morning.

We had Brigade Sports last Sunday and done pretty fir. Tom won the 440yds and is an entree now for divisional sports. He ran in the relay too. Our team took second place. The boxing was held tonight but as Peener & Brownie weren't in it I didn't go down. Instead, Tom & Fergy and I went down and got some eggs and chips. Fergy leaves here tomorrow for another tour so we may not see him again while we're out here.

All Alberta boys voted today. I poled my first one & voted for Rev Bob Pearson and Pts Harper. Capt Pearson will get in I think and a nurse who is running may get the other place. There wasn't much choice in the rest of them.

We spent the whole day yesterday in a little town where the sports were held. It was the prettiest town I've seen in France. Lots of big trees and parks. The YMCA was pretty prominent and came in handy for meals. Peener & I had our picture "tooked" and they're abso-bally-utely rotten. I don't know if I'll send one or not. If I do you've got to dish it after one glance. I look as if I'd lost my last friend. The bunch of us may make another stab at it tomorrow but I can't hope for much luck.

Oh say I got a swell box of cigarettes from Marg & Wy. A hundred of ‘em in a regular china box. I gave the rest of the crowd an awful shock believe me. They were good cigarettes too. Will you hand on my best thanks to them for me? I'll write before we go out of here.

This is all tonight. Love to everybody Bill

P.S. Just got our mail and got the registered letter with the quid. Thanks very muchly -- It sure comes in handy right now. Does my allowance get there OK. It aught to. WJM
