A BELATED CHRISTMAS GIFT

But Appreciated By a Former Dutton Boy in Egypt

For a Christmas gift R.P. Reekie sent last November a box of cigars to Roy Miller, who was then on the island of Lemnos, but the gift failed to reach him until long after the festive season. The receipt of cigars he acknowledged as follows:

Alexandria, Egypt
Feb. 17, 1916

DEAR MR. REEKIE. -

Your box of cigars received two days ago, for which accept my sincere thanks. They are much appreciated.

We left Lemnos Island, where we have been stationed for six months, two weeks ago and are in camp here, just waiting to be placed again. Have no idea where we will be sent.

We are enjoying the city again after so long in the wilderness. The weather is beautiful and we are camping right on the sea shore. The bathing is very fine. The temperature runs about 70 degrees during the day and drops to about 40 at night.

This is a very short not but have no news whatever. Thanking you again for the cigars,

I am,

Yours Sincerely,

ROY MILLER
