I am attached to B. Coy for day to help Capt. Lotter who had all three Subs hit and was alone. Roll calls in all companies today. Lonely looking sight. Only about half strength. Casualties show about 53 all ranks killed and over 300 all ranks wounded or missing. Twelve officers hit but only two killed outright. Smith and Anderson. Mr. Davidson later died of gas and Mr. Mobray never heard of again.
