Letter

Wed. Nov. 24/43 Dear Mom, I just received a letter from Milton and I'm going in to London to see him on the first of Dec. It's quite possible that we will be posted before then and in that case our meeting will have to be postponed for a while. He says he is trying to get to Italy. We didn't get to Naval School as it was filled. All we do now is go on parade twice a day and then we are dismissed. It's getting very boring. Every morning about ten and every noon about three we go and have our tea. We attend the same place all the time so the lady really knows us well. Walt went in to London this morning to see a guy in the navy that he knows. The place is very quiet without him. Mrs. Hawksworth sent me the shoes I was telling you about. They make a good souvenir - -all the working people wear them. I am sending them on to you. I am also looking around for something for Marilyn and Austin but as yet have not seen anything. I have just finished sending about a dozen Christmas cards-Hope I didn't forget anybody. It is really cold and damp over here. We have to wear our great coats all the time. I suppose you have the usual snow over there now. It would really look good to see some. I suppose you can't understand that. Well Mom, I must go to dinner and get our daily rations. All my love, George
