My Dearest Father:

Just received your letter tonight which I was very glad to get as you know. I got Jessie's letter last night and answered it today.

I am so glad you got my letter. letting you about Spencer. I suppose you had a letter from the Coy. Commander and Sgt Major. I was talking to Capt Clark a few days ago and he said he was going to write to you he wanted to find out more about Spencer's burrial. he has been very busy. Doug B. is taking a A.N.C.O course

I think I told you in one of my precious letters that I got five dollars O.K. It came in very handy. I can tell you.. money is always a good thing to have as you know in your business. How is Kennith getting along hope he got [? exemptid] O.K. and no doubt he did.

I got the box in that John sent a week ago. had a letter from Grace Logan tonight and a box of candy a few days ago. Pretty sad about Mrs John Reid was John tending her? She has a large family of [?] but I suppose Ethel is quite a house keeper now

Ellen tells me that John is busy as ever. I guess he will not get much rest up there. I guess he is never satisfied unless he is going all the time. This is the first letter I have written in a dugout for some time and can't git much to write. Saturday am, well Father I think I will stop for this time I think I told Jessie that I have been permoted to [?] some permotion, oh.

Will say bye bye

Lots of love to all Loving son
Don
