My Dearest Father:

was so glad to get your letter a few days ago. I had a card from Mr MacIntosh a short time ago which I must answer some of these days. we are having fine weather lately but pretty cold.

How does Mr and Mrs Jones get along in the choir. funny they changed from [?] to [?]. I should think they would be a great help Oh I would like to hear some good music now and I expect to before long when I get my Leave to England. C.S.M.R. Mc[?] that wrote you is in England for his commission now. I have still the job as Coy clerk and it is sure better than in the ranks. I am glad you gave the $500 to the church for me. you can give 5 ever two or three months

Did they send you all the money that was coming to Spencer? I don't know just how they fix those things up. Have you been in Hfx since the explosion? I guess the north end doesn't look much like it used to I was talking with Capt Clark and he said he had word that his [?] were all O.K. glad of that Some of the boys here got word that their father mother and two brothers had been killed I guess they are going back to Canada. we were in the trenches for xmas came out before New Years and had a fine xmas dinner I hope the next one will be with you at old Musy of course we hope to be back before that

Cos. Day is with us he is just the same old Cos. nothing puts him out any, just the same in the trenches as out.

How is Kennith did he get exempted hope he did I think he should. I think there have been enough of us over here I guess Charles Reid is going back to Canada he has been in England for about 8 months he has muscular rheumatism hope he makes camp

Hoping to hear from you Soon
Lots of Love
