Dearest Father:

Just received your very welcome letter last night which was written Nov 7th I wrote to Jessie last night I got the box Sadie sent me. a few days ago. I suppose you are having pretty cold weather the weather is pretty cold here but nice and fine lately suppose we will soon be getting lots of rain.

How is the partridge shooling this year must be pretty scarce

there is nothing much to write about from here. How is Percy and [?] getting along She will make a man of him Perhaps she is old enough. I don't know what Ervin will think of the match. John sent me a photo of his boy I think he is a nice looking little chap he looks like you don't you think.

the Sgt Major says he looks a lot like Spence Spencer and I had some snaps taken and the postal clerk told me he thought they had gone home. So if you get them I wish you would send one or two I think I told Jessie about them. If you want to keep the mare and sell the colt why do so. don't hold on to it for me if you don't want to.

under what conditions did Gow apply for [?] I hope he gets [?] as no doubt he will. I think I will vote for the Gov. but if I thought Gow or Ken would have to come I would not be cause. I think there have been enough of us over here this is just right to rout out the slackers as I think there are quite a number. there is no Doubt about John I guess he is safe from it but poor Alf well Father I must close for this time hope to hear from you again soon

Lots of Love and Merry Xmas to all
