Dearest Father:

I received your letter yesterday was very glad as you always know to hear from you. we are having pretty fine weather now not very cold this is a dandy morning we haven't had much snow this winter. I am glad that Kennith got exempted you please tell him to write I haven't heard from him since I wrote him about Spencer and tell him to hang onto his business don't get foolish and want to get over here. he is far better where he is and don't worry about me. I am still Coy Clerk which is much easier than in the ranks.

How is the [?] getting along?

Ervin is a Staff Sgt. now some people are lucky. I don't know what Ervin thinks of [?] hitch. I am glad you sold the colt. the mare is so [?] for Jessie to drive Suppose you can drive the car lots of times yet. John tells me that he sold his... I thought Don Logan joined the flying Corp is that right or not?

It is right about the boys in Hfx. and Co. not having to sign up? I saw a few of the pictures of Richmond it just looks like some of the old towns over here

I think it will be a good thing for Hfx. in a way they will build up the North end and make it decent for once but that will not bring back the lives that were lost. how are you feeling this winter? hope you are free from colds. I think I will close for this time I will enclose this with Jessies

Lots of Love
Loving Son Donald
