My Dearest Father,

Just a few lines to let you know that I am O.K. but as you will know Poor Doug was killed he had two M.G. bullets in the head. he was killed instantly no suffering he sure was one of the best fellows over here. My best friend, a person feels lost with out him.

We don't know where Munroe Lindsay is yet I hope he is O.K. and I think he is. he may be in Blighty now he would no doubt write his mother as soon as possible. I don't know whether I can write Dougs wife or not there is nothing I can tell her.

I have heard just now that Munroe was wounded and got out of the line o.k.

Just Stan and I left from home now. I hope I can see this thing through.

Will write you again in a few days this is short but there is nothing to write. Pretty tired just now.

Will say bye bye
Lots of love to all
Loving Son Don

This is a note of German money
