Dearest Father:

Just got your letter yesterday which was written July 30th quite a while ago it had gone to the hospital I don't know why they send my mail there. I guess they got me messed up with some other Reid in C.Coy this is the second one which has gone there. I also got Jessies letter with it. glad to get the snaps.

glad to know that you got the watch and other little articles.

Spencer had a letter from John and one from Ken a few days ago. Ken said that you had bought a car. well he said he should say a Ford not a car.

So Wallace Sidg has gone to work in the bank. Can he take the Tiller Place?

How is Janet and Murray? I wrote Janet twice but never answered either one. Well Father I am writing this in the trench and there is not much a fellow can write. its beginning to feel like fall over here you will be getting the Colt in before long now. John said you were going to keep him for Spencer and I well I hope you do I sure think he will be a good one.

I guess there's no more for this time
will ring off

P.S.
Well Father here I am again we came out of the line three days ago. had our first parade just now. Spencer went out on a course a few days ago.

Harry Clark preached to us last night.

I guess its quite a long time since I wrote to you but I think when I write to Jessie or some of you that its just the same or as good.

well I guess I will ring off for this time
