Sun. Apr. 8 -

This is Easter Sun. It is a fine, bright day. I felt I would have liked to have heard an Easter service. There were some in the church hut, but in the battery here, we carried on as usual with harness and horses, the officer taking a notion to keep us at it longer than usual. In the evening with two or three friends, I went to the village and had a few fried eggs. Along the firing line, we were winning new ground. During the day, infantry and cavalry went by to music going to the front.
