My dear Grannie:

I was very glad to receive your fourth letter this morning. Yes! I actually received the other three including the first one even if Kathleen did post so you can set all your fears to rest. I think I have received everything so far.

I am glad to hear that you are comfortably settled at last. I received a letter from Dad this morning written by himself so I see that he must be quite a bit better.

We had an air-raid here night before last. Had just gone into dinner (all the lights in the country were out and we had one lamp for 150 fellows) and two bombs went off just close by. However we continued our dinner. In the morning I went over and say the holes the bombs had made in a field and got some pieces of the bombs. Four casualties - Two sheep killed and two wounded.

If I get an opportunity to see Mr. Metcalfe I will ask for the negative of the two of us as I have had quite a few calls for a print of it.
I have finished my time in Spads and am waiting around for [?] second innoculation which I will get next Friday. I hoped to meet Staff in London but could not get down. [?] Jeffries has left here and is in a hospital near Gasport. Max is at an aerodrome about twenty miles from here but I have not yet seen him.

I hope Kathleen has not worked herself sick. I have not had a letter from her for some little time.

I have written five letters this morning and am all dry of news I'm afraid. Have not heard from Uncle Will.

With love

Gord
